Description

Gum 15 is a southern hemisphere nebula from the Gum catalog, located in the constellation of Vela, about 3,000 light-years from Earth. It is shaped by aggressive winds flowing from the stars within and around it. The bright star in the center of the nebula is HD 74804, a double star. All according to Wikipedia.

Since I have no astro darkness at my own obsy I take the opportunity to process some sothern hemisphere data. This is RGB data from Telescope Live at the El Sauce hosting facility at 1500m elevation in Río Hurtado, Coquimbo Region, Chile. RGB data contains 36 x 10 min red, 40 x 10 min green and 40 x 10 min blue.
