Description

Despite an almost Full Moon in the evening sky, I decided last Saturday to go outside for a quick Ha session on the famous Veil Nebulas, NGC 6960 & 6992, in constellation Cygnus next to the double star 52 Cyg.

It was also the first « light » for a mount upgrade I bought directly from William Optics : a fully CNC machined latitude base mount for the SkyGuider Pro. I have to admit that polar alignement was much much more easier than with original base and made that small investment a good deal.

I wanted to do autoguiding with the Lacerta MGen behind a 7x50 finder scope, and some setting away, I could do 300s exposure with no tracking error! That stuff is doing great job! I will post an image of my portable setup at work in my backyard.

25 single image stacked and processed with PixInsight, darks, bias but no flats this time. Final touch-up in PS for removing residual noise I couldn’t fix under Pix. 5 min exposure on a DSLR uncooled chip shows nice amount of information but also an huge noisy patchwork! I thinking more about a cooled CCD every day…hmmm…

Finally, I’m pleased with that final result showing some nice tiny filaments along the Pickering Triangle and good details in the other nebulosity.

Thanks for looking at my newest image and clear skies to you all!
