Description

The Rosette Nebula is a giant molecular cloud in the constellation Monoceros. It is about 50 light-years in diameter and about 5000 light-years away from the earth.

This image was created by combining Ha and OIII recent data taken with WO GT 71 and 2 years old data taken with ES ED 80. Channel assignment R - Ha, G - OIII & B - OIII. This combination comes close to the natural RGB image appearance.

In Dec 2018 - Ha - 3 mins x 10, OIII - 3 mins X 10 - with ES ED 80

In Dec 2020 - Ha - 7 mins x 10, OIII - 7 mins x 3 - with WO GT 71
