Description

This has been a sore point for a number of years. First with my inability to came to grips with actually capturing it in the days of yore with the M809 and the SXV-H9 and more recently with actually capturing it with the new rig. The intial attempt in 2020-2021 didn't produce enough data to even attempt putting together any half-decent (or even quarter-decent for the matter) image. This PN is hellishingly faint and very badly positioned from my vantage point in both altitude (I'm 52deg N) and LP situation as the southern horizon is where the nearby industrial estate sheds most of its light pollution (and they are ALL led lights!). Having a light poluution suppression filter helps but not hugely (I'd consider it as a minimum requirement for my site). Given that I put it on hold. That is until I got the L-eNhance tri-band filter from Optolong which I put to good use for this fiendishly difficult object. I also made what turned out a signficant mistake in binning the image in camera which brought its own challenges (mostly due to proper field-flattening). But this new round at least gave me enough signal to cook up something between the two sets which is worth pushing out in the public view. It isn't pretty but it is there, that's the best I can say about it.
