Description

IC 405 (Sh 2-229, Caldwell 31) is an emission and reflection nebula that surrounds the star AE Aurigae.  It is around 1,500 years away and spans about 5 light years.

IC 410 is an emission nebula more than 100 light-years across.  It is some 12,000 light years from Earth in the constellation of Auriga. Embedded within the nebula is the open star cluster NGC 1893. The ‘Tadpoles’ are approximately 10 light-years long and point their tails outwards from the centre of the nebula.

This is a 4 panel mosaic of Ha data which were collected between 28 January and 28 February 2022.  Capture details are as follows:

Camera: QSI 683
Filters: Astrodon
Mount: 10 Micron GM1000HPS

Ha: 78 x 1200s

A total of 26 hours exposure.
