Imaged the NGC7000, the North America Nebula, towards the end of this past summer from my backyard in the northern suburbs of Washington, DC. This turned out to be a great target for me thanks to high declination (away from the worst of the light pollution to my south) and great H-alpha signal which really shines with the modified DSLR. Imaged in RGB and NB Ha to generated final NBRGB image.
Imaged with WO GT81 at F4.7 (382 mm focal length) using Flat6A II field flattener/0.8x reducer, Orion Skyglow filter & Optolong 12nm Ha filter, and full spectrum modified Nikon D5300.
NBRGB Version (D=Final):
NBRBG image generated from OSC RGB data and H-alpha NB data using the Pixinsight NBRVB-AIP script. Ha in Red set to 50%. I like the results from this script better than the result from the NBRGBCombination script.
NBRGB Version (Rev C):
NBRBG image generated from OSC RGB data and H-alpha NB data using the Pixinsight NBRGB combination script. Red was augmented by H-alpha data with a scale factor of 5.0.
RGB Version:
Pre-processed using PixInsight Batch Pre-Processing (BPP) script. Images calibrated using darks, bias, and flats. Stacked 39 subs (180 sec at ISO 200) for a total integration time of ~2 hours. Post-processed in Pixinsight: Cropped, gradient removal with ABE, MLT for noise reduction, Background Neutralization, Color Calibration, SCNR, stretched using Arcsinh then Histogram Transformation Tool, Curves Transformation, HDR transform, Local histogram transform, and Color Saturation boost.
