Description

M16 is an open cluster surrounded by a gaseous nebula, situated around 6000-7000 l-y from earth. The center of the nebula contains the so-called "Pillars of Creation", made famous by the great Hubble picture. The nebula is believed to be an active region of stars formation.

Acquisition of subs was done over 3 nights, two of them cut short by clouds early in the night. Transparency was generally bad, at times I could barely see the "Tea Pot" stars... It still amazes me how narrow band filters can cut through light pollution.
