Description

The Cave Nebula (also known as Sharpless 2-155) is a diffuse nebula in the constellation Cepheus lying approximately 2400 Ly's distant. It is an ionized H II region with active new star formation. It has a diameter of 75 Ly's and the average age of the stars within the nebula is less than 100,000 years. The two bright stars illuminating the nebula are HD 217061 and HD 217086.
