Description

I was just playing around with some new blending techniques, so I decided to try them out on an old favorite of mine, M 42.  This is data taken with Telescope Live's CHI-1 scope (Planewave CDK24/FLI ProLine PL9000) and there's a TON of subs...271 to be exact....in RGBHSO....but they're only 30s and 60s, so this image has a total exposure time of 4hrs 37min.  I used a lot of starless processing on the nebula and then used PixelMath to insert the stars.  One Pixinsight script that I REALLY like is the ColorCorrectedHDRMT.....it shows the Trapezium stars and preserves the colors of the nebula around them and even shows some nebular structure if you zoom way in.
Anyway, hope ya like it!
Tom
