Description

There are edge-on galaxies and there are edge-on galaxies, but this one sets the bar. NGC-7814, also know by the moniker "The Little Sombrero" for its resemblance to M-104, is a beautiful spiral located in Pegasus. At a relative distance of 40 million light years, it is truly a 'cosmic needle' nestled in a 'haystack' of faint galaxies in the background.
