Abell Planetary Nebula

Since the Sharpless2 Group seems so popular (1000+ objects in one year) I thought it would be a good idea to have an Abell group. There are fewer Abell objects than Sharpless2 but they are very popular. However, many are obscure and hard to image, especially to know what filters to use and if it is really feasible.

A nice source listing of them all is:

http://www.stathis-firstlight.de/deepsky/abell_sumary.htm

In this listing 6 are not in the SEC and considered not planetary nebulae and thus there are 80 not 86 real ones (The others are 6, 11, 17, 32, 64 and 76), according to the above reference.

I have added sorting by Tag to this group in December 2021... the Tag is Abell (Abell=01 or Abell=86). This gives you the option to sort by Abell number or chronologically. The Sort Images Option is in the top menu. By adding the tag you can also have your own collection in your own gallery and sort it there also.
