Description

The crater Plato, the Lunar Alps, and the Alpine Valley are featured in this long focal length imaging of the waxing gibbous moon (63% illuminated) on May 21, 2021.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/20 (~0.18 arcsec/pixel). Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 300 and an exposure of 2.5 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 25% of 1000 frames). Panorama generated from 18 sub images using Microsoft Image Explorer. Wavelet sharpening, histogram adjustment, and RGB balancing in Registax6. Additional sharpening using Topaz Sharpen AI. Curves adjustment and color saturation boost (for 'mineral moon' version) using PixInsight.
