Description

Object Description:

The Rosette Nebula is a huge cloud of dust and gas and has a diameter of about 1 degree in the sky (two full moons). The open star cluster NGC2244 lies within the nebula. These stars are young super-hot stars that were born out of the material that makes up the nebula. The bright young stars light up the nebula by exciting its atoms to emit radiation.

This was taken in my yard in Marietta, GA during January and February 2020 and is about 16 hours of total exposure time through Ha, OIII, and S2 filters with RGB stars.
