Description

Data acquired through custom advanced requests at Telescope Live using my own credits so this specific data is unique to me.

I started acquiring this data in early December of 2021, but weather and scheduling conflicts had delayed its completion.  At the time I started there were few examples of this image but since then ChileScope had done a processing challenge on this target going deeper than I had and had resulted in many images of this region getting posted.

This area of the sky is full of satellites crossings.  The bright trails were not difficult for normal pixel rejection to process out but in the color data with the fewer subs the faint trails posed a problem.  I ended up using Adam Block's selective pixel rejection technique to take care of those.

For the color stars, I used Team Noctua's MMMTFStars custom script provided to me by my friend Chen Wu which progressively stretches the stars with HT and creates a star mask to blend back into a starless stretched RGB image.
