Description

Early morning around 5:30, dawn, the sky was gradually turning white-blue.

Abundant moisture in the air and on all surfaces. The 24-days old moon at 25° altitude, aweful seeing, like through shallow water. Thanks to Autostakkert!3 and an Astronomik IR742nm pass filter this short, hasty session was worth while in spite of longer than usual exposure times and higher gain. Tracking was exceptionally good.

The images of Jupiter (with Io and its shadow) and Saturn are quick recordings placed into the moon image to scale. It may be wise to wait until the gas giants' opposition month. All images are stacks of 200 from 2000 frames in 8-bit mono and 1.5x drizzled.
