Description

A first test of a combination of new filters and better mono planetary/guide camera on my Skywatcher 130PDS with 3x Barlow.

My IR cut filter never arrived in time for use in combination with my #47 Violet filter which therefore let stronger IR light through to my UV image layer, saturating the signal with lower detail IR wavelengths than was intended. This is a budget alternative to a dedicated and expensive U-Venus or similar Venus filter. So I present a "UV" layer corrupted by IR light unfortunately.

Now the clouds are back as Venus gets ever lower as the nights go on so I've stuck with the data I have to produce this less than ideal image compared to what I was hoping to capture.

Captured with a ZWO ASI290MM mini USB2 guide camera used as a planetary camerea. I purchased this mainly as a guide camera and future off-axis guide camera but it's still an excellent planetary imager as can be seen in my earlier moon mosaic.
