Description

I imaged the Moon for the first time, since late last year. As Van McComas says, "when the Moon is out, shoot the Moon". Although my C14 is set up for deep sky I set up the C11 on the CGEM DX Mount and did so.

This is a 4 panel mosaic, captured at Prime Focus. I captured videos of ~ 150 secs duration and processed these in the normal way. Finally I stitched the 4 panels together in Photoshop.

This orientation is as I saw the Moon on the night, as we see it in the Southern Hemisphere and thus it might look quite odd to those of you from the Northern Hemisphere.

I remember one night, long before Covid, when we could travel, sitting with my wife on a bench near the seashore in Nice in the South of France and pointing out to her that the Moon we were looking at was upside down. She was taken aback when she really looked at it.

Flat Earthers beware.....don't really look at the Moon from different parts of the globe (ha ha), lest your beliefs be overturned by your own eyes.
