NGC3945 in Ursa Major

This is a bright, barred lenticular galaxy [SB(rs)0+] with a large, bright, elongated core. A faint bar is attached to a bright inner ring and is oriented perpendicular to the core. The ring brightens where it touches the bar and a second, very faint ring surrounds the galaxy. Discovered by W.Herschel on march 19, 1790.
Angular diameter: 5.2'x3.5'.
Radial velocity: 1355 km/s.
Distance: 61 lmy.
Diameter: 92000 ly.

NGC3945 est une brillante galaxie lenticulaire barrée entourée d'un anneau plus faible qui nous fait penser à Saturne. Meade LX200 ACF de 25cm de diamètre à f/10 et ccd cp8-MS, image LRGB de 24x5mn en luminance et 10x2mn pour chacune des couches couleur (binning 2x2). Villaz, 1er juin 2019 et 31 mars 2020 . Cette galaxie d'une dimension angulaire de 5,2'x3,5' fait partie du groupe de la Grande Ourse et est située à 61 millions d'années lumière. Son diamètre est de 92000 années lumière.Elle fut découverte par W.Herschel le 19 mars 1790.
