Description

Rosette Nebula, NGC 2244 in HOO RGB
This is one of the most photographed objects in the sky. Breathtaking and fascinating. It is a H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy. I captured that image from my backyard, in Borrtle 5, Ontario, over few nights during January and February 2022. Needless to say, these were long and cold nights, with temperatures around -20- -25C.
