Description

Another dream come true with my first big deep space mosaic. What I bring you today is a photograph composed of 3x3 photos that merge to form one of the most impressive objects that can be captured.

Located in the Cygnus constellation, the Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant or, put another way, an explosion of a star that occurred more than 12,000 years ago. The focus contains the remains of the hot and ionized gas resulting from said explosion.

It is a giant nebula that is divided into three zones, the eastern veil (Caldwell 34) which is located near the star 52 Cygni and is known as a witch's broom, the western veil (Caldwell 33), and the impressive triangle of Pickering Wisp.

In high resolution there are parts that look like glowing filaments because they are only supposed to be visible edge-on, producing that effect. It is impossible to see visually, but thanks to the OIII and Ha filters, some impressive colors come out.

I have suffered a lot to process it, not only because of the size of the image close to 64 megapixels, but also because I captured it with 90% moon and quite humid in some days, so mixing the tiles with gradients has been a nightmare. But hey, happy with the result.
