Description

Abell 42 (PK16.0+13.5) is an almost never imaged planetary nebula in Ophiuchus. This is the first image on Astrobin. Abell 42 is a very small Abell, measuring only 1.0 arc minutes and has a magnitude listed at 16.5. Nothing is visible on the RGB image. It has a very irregular football shape, with Ha and Oiii of comparable strength, both weak in the center.

A possible progenitor star is weakly visible in the center.

This is everything I could find on the web about this PN. Very obscure.
