Description

Everyone is looking at the big neighbors in Andromeda and Triangulum but there is another beauty around.

NGC 7640 is around 26 Million LY away and has an diameter of about 60.000 LY.

Wikipedia says: There is evidence that this galaxy has experienced an interaction with another galaxy in the (astronomically) recent past.

For me it is already difficult to recognize that this is a barred spiral galaxy, due to the edge on view.

It seemes to be very alone in that region of sky but it forms the isolated galaxy trio KTG 80 together with PGC 71368 and PGC 71596 (both outside my image).

I've managed to get some frames of it this night but mainly I've started my new project and tested some things around my image train. As a sideeffect I finally managed to get the right distance to my CC and from now on stars should be round to the edges of the image.

It was therefore an eventful and successful night :-)

Thanks for watching!
