Description

NGC 5033 is one of the closer Seifert-type galaxies with active nuclei. Distance measurements are not conclusive, Wikipedia cites 38-50 Million Lightyears. I think the star forming regions and nebula are nice as are the widely spaced spiral arms. The glow to the right in the image is from a very bright star close by.

For this image, I have struggled with the stars. I am quite sure collimation is off (again), but could not get it better despite several attempts. I acquired a photographic Ronchi mask because I think my mirror spacing might be off.
