Description

crop1 copie.jpg

I've always found it incredible to be able to photograph nebulae in another galaxy, which is why I wanted to make this image of M33.

Long exposure times with restrictive filters make it possible to get a lot of signal out of these nebulae.

The resulting image is predominantly HOO, but still uses visible wavelengths, giving a lesser-known version of this famous galaxy.

The luminance, on the other hand, highlights the IFNs present around the galaxy.

The image shows the recent discovery of Alex Roig 'Roig1 Prades Sky' in December 2023.

But also better-known nebulae such as NGC 604, a huge nursery of stars and one of the largest known to date in our neighboring galaxies.
This monstrous star-birth region contains more than 200 brilliant blue stars within a cloud of glowing gases some 1,300 light-years across, nearly 100 times the size of the Orion Nebula. By contrast, the Orion Nebula contains just four bright central stars.

We can also see traces of Ha in the foreground of the Milky Way.

And finally, the traditional image layer decomposition.
couches.jpg A huge thank you to all the friends who lent me their eyes when I couldn't see much, you've made this image so sublime!Marcel, Nicolas, Julien, Gaëtan, Mickael, Julien, Cédric (I'm taking a risk in mentioning you because I'm afraid of forgetting someone haha)
