NGC1973-1975-1977 Alias the Running Man Nebula, sharpless 2-279 This is an emission and a reflection nebula but I thought I would go for the reflection part as dominant (I have imaged it in HO in the past), so this is LRGB. (Which is called making a virtue out of necessity as my ASIAIR platesolving wasn't working so I just had to find a bright subject with red dot finder, eyeballing it and setting it tracking and a lot of time was wasted so narrowband was never going to happen!).Orionis 42 (a B2V star) lights most of this up (puts out 10,700 times the light of our sun so its up to it!). Its the left most of the cluster of 4 and almost central to the picture. Can't see the running man shape (the red part does look like a man with a bigger field and less detail). Quattro 8", ZWO178MM-C, OAG guiding, ASIAIR, EQ6Pro, zwo filters and SW coma corrector 6/10/2021L 100x1s, 60x20s, RGB all 30x60s (270x,-5degC) = 1h50min total

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
