Sh2-112, the 112th entry in the Shaprless catalog of emission nebulae, lies about 1.5 degrees WNW of the brightest star in the summer constellation Cygnus. It lies some 6000 light years away, placing it in the Orion Arm of the galaxy. It’s a circular H II region of emission that’s crossed by a dark band of dust to the upper right, obscuring the emission behind it.
