Description

Deep inside Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) lie dark globulettes that consist of mass which may in time lead to birth of new stars or planets (for further reading please se Gahm G.F., et al. (2013). Mass and motion of globulettes in the Rosette Nebula. Astronomy & Astrophysics 555, A57). Many globulettes can be observed in this image - they look like teardrops against the bright nebulae. In the upper right hand corner lies a hot O-type star HD 46150 (the largest of them) which is partly responsible for the development of this beautiful nebula.
