Description

According to the German version of Wikipedia this planetary nebula in Lynx was discovered by Boris Alexandrowitsch Voronsov-Veryaminov who I knew nothing about before and who seems to have been quite a prolific Russian astrophycicist. He catalogued planetary nebula and published an atlas of 800 interacting galaxies not unlike that of Halton Arp. This nebula was later independently discovered by Jones and Emberson and is often named Jones-Emberson 1.

There is an image on astrobin that shows a larger halo of O3 emission around this nebula and I could catch some of it, too. To be able to show it in adequate quality would need a further doubling of integration time.

I wanted to colour the small galaxy below the nebula naturally, but it really has quite some strong Ha-signal and it was deep red in my RGB frames.
