Description

SH2-155 is called the cave nebula, probably because of its appearance as a gaping cave mouth. I really like this wide field with numerous further objects in it. This is one of my first pictures with the RASA 11, and it's also the best so far - I've not really come to grips with that telescope, which has been largely superseded by my Epsilon - which produces a sharper image, holds collimation longer, is easier to collimate and works well with narrowband filters - at a price of about 2x increased integration time. The overwork of this image was long overdue, It has lost a bit of definition of the reflection nebulae, but reveals more detail in the hydrogen parts.
