NGC 6072 "Southern Moth" planetary nebulae in Scorpius

Being quite bright, this nebula is small as about half the area of the famous "Ring Nebula" in the Lyra. The constellation Scorpius is so rich in large bright deep sky objects that this tiny nebula surprisingly rarely becomes a target for amateur astrophotographers.

I filmed it from my balcony during over 28 nights from 29 May 2022 to 29 September 2022.
Australia, QLD, Brisbane, Bortle-7 sky ("red" light pollution area, 18.9m SQM)

The image is composition or LRGB stars and narrowband tricolor with formula of R = H-alpha, B = OIII+0.3*SII, G = OIII. Color was balanced to get close to it's natural value from RGB composition.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
