Description

VdB 9, a reflection nebula surrounding the Giant but not quite Supergiant star SU Cas (HIP 13367) in Cassiopeia. Just to the left of the central reflection is dark nebula LDN 1357, and top right sits LDN 1355 . I've recently come to the realization that my interests lay more with reflection and dark nebula as opposed to emission nebula. This image is a good example of why. Being able to display reflection, dark, and even emission signal all in a single image bring a depth of detail that in my opinion narrowband imaging just can't match.

This is also the first proper image done with the new Orion Newtonian. It won't stay in my quiver forever but it'll do until I finally get my hands on a proper ONTC.
