In my first year I tried this region in one shot color and it came out....well, let's just say it's not one of my better images. Since then I've wanted another shot at it. I had a couple of nights where I was able to spend some quality time in the region and collected 3.6 hours each of H-alpha and OIII. I also collected some SII but opted not to use it. I played around with some tricolor combinations and decided I liked the HOO version better.
This info is for revision B:
processing for individual filters
normal integration
dynamic crop
mure denoise
processing on the combined master:
channel combination (HOO palette)
histogram transformation
lhe (1 scale)
curves (contrast, color and saturation)
TGV Denoise
Adv Sharpening script
Star Reduction script
This fixes some of the mottling in the background that I couldn't control in the first version. Much as I like the detail in drizzle, it seems a bit easier to control the noise with a normal integration.
This info is for the original revision:
Processing for the individual filters
- drizzle integration
- deconvolution
- dynamic crop
- dbe
- MLT noise reduction (very mild)
processing on the combined image
- channel combination (HOO palette)
- histogram transformation
- lhe (2 scales)
- curves transformation (contrast saturation)
- tgv denoise
- Adam Block's modified star de-emphasis procedure
- AdvSharpening script
Description: This is a non-drizzled version that I could then run mure denoise on. I think I kept the background from mottling and though the resolution isn't as good since it isn't drizzled, I think the overall result is better.
