Description

Located in the direction of the Hare constellation at a distance of about 146 million light-years, NGC 1954 is a large spiral galaxy with low surface brightness, classified as a Spiral galaxy (SAbc) according to the morphological classification of galaxies of Hubble and de Vaucouleurs. The NGC 1954 galaxy is in gravitational interaction with the NGC 1957 galaxy (just top right).Note the tidal tail that forms a galactic bridge of cosmic matter that expands due to the force of gravity and stretches towards NGC 1957.Further on at about 154 million, another spiral galaxy is discovered. This is the IC 2132. Its diameter is estimated at about 65,000 light-years.
