Description

Hello everyone,

This nebula is quite small for my field but I found it worth giving a try. It is a quite large file, you can zoom in. I love the nebula lost in the field of stars even if there is nothing fancy in this picture. Quite glad that I could capture the central star with my C6. Hope you like it.

Stay healthy and all the best,

Andreas

Information from Wikipedia : NGC 6781 is a planetary nebula located in Aquila. It was discovered July 30, 1788 by the Anglo-German astronomer William Herschel. The nebula lies at a distance of 1,500 ly from the Sun.  It has a visual magnitude of 11.4 and spans over 1.9' × 1.8'. The bipolar dust shell of this nebula is believed to be barrel-shaped and is being viewed from nearly pole-on. The magnitude 16.88 central star of the planetary nebula is a white dwarf. It has an M-type co-moving companion at a projected separation of under =nowrap5,000 AU.  The white dwarf progenitor star had an estimated initial mass of =nowrap~2.5 M. It left the AGB and entered the cooling stage around 9,400 years ago.
