      Description

This animated gif is the continuation of: Crab Nebula (one decade time-lapse movie). Detailed informations and links to other works you can find there.

      Changes for this version:

      - 5 additional years (2018-2022)

      - much better image quality (improved sharpness of the red filaments and improved visualization of the synchrotron radiation area), thanks to Russel Cromans BlurXTerminator!

      - bigger file size (35 MBytes compared to 9 MBytes, mainly caused by more images, partly (33%) by better gif encoding quality)

      - new arrangement of the frames (original version (27.12.17) 2008->2017, this version 2008->2022->2008). The animated gif shows the years up and down, not with a jump at the end, the movements are better visible with this arrangement.

      There are two versions available:

Original: 1 frame per second, you can check the individual frames and the varying seeing.

Final: 24 frames per second, you can see the dynamical movements in the synchrotron area.

Strong high dynamic range processing and sharpening reveals the versatile movements of the white synchrotron radiation beside the normal expansion of the red filaments.
You can easily see the flowing  jet with structures south west of the pulsar, the anti clockwise rotating torus around the pulsar and moving dust clouds at the north east edge.

For the highest possible image quality (no gif-artefacts), please download the animated png (apng) file and view it with xnview or edge or irfanview: CrabNebula_time-lapse_movie_2008-2022.png
In order to open the downloaded local file in edge you can use an url similar like
      file:///C:/Users/ha/Downloads/M1_CrabNebula_time-lapse_movie_2008-2022upanddown.png

Unfortunately, I am struggling with a serious illness, so I probably will not be able to continue this project with my own equipment. I will try to continue this with rented robotic telescopes.
