Description

Yes I broke my money-box to renew my equipment.

I told myself that we only had one existence (in principle..) and I didn't want to have any regrets.

I admit that I had a hard time tidying up my C8. I think I spent more nights with him than with my wife ha!ha!. I don't know if anyone other than me has ever felt this feeling of attachment to his material to the point of being nostalgic.

Well, this is my first image with the C11, and not everything went perfectly.

Like many of Celestron, he didn't enjoy the transport and I had to resume collimation in not very mild weather conditions at this time of year here.

After two evenings between the clouds and only one available star (Altaïr), most of the work was done (probably to improve).

Well, I'm not dissatisfied with this first test with quite strong turbulence, especially since for the first time Olympus Mons (iconic crater of Mars) is visible on the right limb as a clear task.

Technically, this is an LRGB image made from 5 2-minutes videos for L (IR) and 4 2-minutes videos per RGB channel (from 23:20 UT to 23:57 UT or 37 minutes of derotation).

I have retained 10,000 images out of a total of 170,000.

The luminance was achieved by retaining 30% of the IR channel and final treatment under WinJupos.
