Description

Well, i wanted to see how far this gets with the new Apo, so i choosed a non familiar target (for me) with a lot of nebulosity. Conditions were good but some subs are slightly out of focus (my fault). I think the Apo has done pretty well, but my postprocessing skills can't handle all that nebulosity :-( I did my very best, but i think i destroyed some of the stars out there. On the other side you can see a lot of knots and cold molecular pillars ('elephant trunks') inside the nebula. Nevertheless i am totally happy, because it seems that the Apo is handling anything really well.

Another thing is obvious if you compare this image to my previous one (of M 31). The more subs the less noise. This image is nearly noise free (well, for me of course) compared to most of my other images. The 10 hours were worth it :-)
