Description

This was not an easy process. My data besides not being great in general, had some strange background noise of some sort that was difficult to keep at bay. First I thought to just crop the Eastern Veil out and work on that separately. However I do like the whimsical structures of the Pickering Nebula and decided to go for it. I see now that I have oversaturated it while trying to get out a bit more of the filament structures. I will revisit this data a few more times....

The Eastern Veil is part of a large Supernova remnant, the Cygnus Loop with it's neighbors the Pickering's Triangle and the Western Veil Nebula. The entire structure lies at approximately 2400 LY from Earth, has a diameter of approximately 130 LY and a magnitude 7. This object was discovered in 1784 by William Herschel.

Title: "The Celestial Diver" - Caldwell 33

Description: I never completely liked the last processing of the Eastern Veil. There was just too much of a stark contrast between sky background an nebulosity and it just didn't look right. And the weather has not gotten better, so the only thing left is to exercise and get better with processing. It is now mid April and I had probably 5 clear nights in total since mid December...

Each time I look at this object, I see a diver in the middle of a back flip before diving into the depths of the Pickering's Sea...
