Description

This is my 3rd and final image of 25/03/2021 concerning this remarkable crater.

The two previous published views were intended to introduce Schiller to his environment.

My attention was immediately attracted by the many craters that dot its enclosure. I wanted to realize their size and publish a crater-centered image and a B version to confirm the resolution obtained.

Technically, for the final image, I selected the best brutes from two videos (225) to improve the S/B and bring out the details.

Version B shows three views of two control craters, a wide shot of Schiller at the bottom of the image made by the LRO (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter), then at the top left that taken at C11 with the R610 filter, and a zoomed image at the top right that shows the scale obtained and confirms that these two craters are less than 1 km in size.

Like the famous Clavius crater, Schiller is also a good target for amateur astronomers to check collimation and resolution of an optics.
