Description

The tools available for processing have come a long way since I started this hobby in 2020. It is a bit crazy to acknowledge that all the original techniques I learned when I started out are now obsolete.

This image shows what GHS2, SPCC, StarNet2, NoiseX and BlurX in particular can do with a light polluted broadband image with only 51 minutes of exposure time. Granted, they are not magic buttons you can presss (but pretty close to it) to process an image because you still need to know what you are doing. Yet, I think this is a serviceable image of the Leo Triplet. It also shows how processing is not a substitute for good SNR, as many of the fainter stars and objects just do not show up with a small integration time.
