Description

Limited data due to cloudy weather which sadly was around the new moon yet again. For some reason I love these wide field galaxy cluster areas. maybe because contemplating them is awe inspiring.

Going deep with a 102mm refractor: NGC 5566 and NGC 5577 are barred spiral galaxy 65 MLYs and 76 MLYs away....in the Virgo constellation. NGC 5566 is the biggest galaxy in the constellation Virgo, ~150klight years in diameter (our Milky Way is ~120k). NGC 5576 is an elliptical (football-shaped) galaxy 68 MLYs. NGC5574 is 79.2 MLYs. NGC 5560, 5569 are ~65 MLYs.

One night was from the beach campground (not great seeing...moisture in the air) near Mendocino CA, the other night from home.
