Description

It is a very dense crater field located around the central meridian in the southern hemisphere.

The dominant formation on this view is the Walter crater, here on the right and at the top of the image, still bathed in the lunar darkness.

To its left and slightly below, another crater, Lexell, denotes in this landscape with its amazing "horseshoe" shape.

Below Walter, at the bottom and on the right, three craters overlap, Miller, Nassereddi and Higgins who come to lean on the closed plain Orontius.
