Description

The magic of the first time I saw or imaged anything in deep space was the Lagoon Nebula. As a newb with a 9.25" Alt/Az Celestron - and a 290MC planetary camera, I was way too zoomed in and couldn't manage much past 15s exposures. I remember it like it was yesterday, sitting in my front lawn in my old Dallas neighborhood, watching the live stack build on the laptop, with everyone asleep and me in awe.

As a pilgrimage, I took out my pandemic-purchase GSO RC6 Ritchey Creigthon for its second light. Using the lovely, and gifted by fellow astronomer Jim Toplicar, STC Astro DuoNarrowband filter, I ran as many 5 minute exposures as I could between the 12 trees in the back yard.
