Description

This image was actually meant as a test shot to verify that my collimation attempts with the Epsilon 130 were kind of successful - and I think they were...

I was never fully satisfied with my star shapes, they looked a bit triangular to me. So after reading lots of collimation tips mainly on CN, I assumed a pinched mirror. I removed the mirror cell and slightly loosened the bolts holding the mirror edges.  When I bought the scope from Teleskop Austria, I also ordered the aperture ring which is held in place by exactly those bolts. May be they were tightened a little bit too much?
Anyway, after reassembling everything the collimation was of course completely off and I used the Takahashi collimation eyepiece and tube which worked quite well.
So instead of using a laser I basically collimated with the help of two nylon threads and a flash light
Thanks again to @Götz Golla who encouraged me to try those tools! The fact that my ASI183 has a rather small chip may have helped, too.

Comparing the light frames before and after I definitely see an improvement, so I'm confident I can now tweak collimation again if needed.
