Description

This image is sort of an experiment to see if some good Luminance data can improve some not so good RGB data.

I originally did this image back in January of 2019 using my 8" Newt and an ASI1600mm. I had little experience doing RGB work with a mono camera and I still did not even know how to properly focus my instrument. Amazing how such a seemingly simple thing can be so difficult for a beginning astrophotographer.

In any case, there have been several times when I have no opportunity to image anew, I went back and played with this image. The last time was about a month ago when we had all of the smoke in our skies from the California wildfires. While I was doing that re-process, I got the idea to re-image the luminance channel and see what comes of it and this is the result.

I added about 3 hours of straight luminance data acquired using a C9.25 with the HyperStar lens with an ASI183mm and a UV/IR cut filter. I am reasonably pleased with the outcome.

I hope you like this final effort with this data and thanks for obliging me, lol...

Any comments/criticism always welcome and Clear Skies!
