Description

Occasionally I like to image something that is at the edge of my equipment and ability. SH2-188 is one of those images. The expanding gas from SH2-188 has a nearly circular shape, but is much brighter to one side. This is because the rapidly moving central star is s creating a bow shock in that direction. This bright side or crescent is fairly easy to image. Bringing out the faint wisps of gas to complete the circle, including those trailing behind, was much more difficult.
