Rho Ophiuchui has to be a favourite part of the night sky for many astrophotgraphers and I am no exception. It is a precursor to the rise of the dark horse nebula and the milky way core. At its heart lies Antares, which I often mistake as Mars and just above it lies the M4 globular cluster. The blue horsehead at 11’o clock is a fine target for deep sky imagers. The foreground was shot with a long exposure of nearly 8 minutes and is my take on astro-minimalism. The figure waded across to the sandbank during low tide to strike a fine pose. The sky was shot later and about 50 mtrs to the right in order to obtain a clear horizon.
