Description

Yes, guys, I know. Why does he upload another M45? We are fed up of the Seven Sisters! BUT, wait! There is a reason: I have choosen this target as a test and first light for my new SkyWatcher ESPRIT 100ED, which I got a few days ago.

I was lucky enough to get a clear night shortly after purchasing a new scope (yeah, I paid with my soul) with great conditions. I think open clusters are a good way, to check for optics quality and if you also get reflection nebula for free with it, go for it!

Also "first light" or test, was using N.I.N.A. in conjunction with MGEN II, since the support for the guiding system was implemented in the nightly builds.

I think both test are a success. Now I just need a nice astrocam for this nice scope (which is the wide-field partner for my 8" f/5 newtonian). It will be the QHY268C and is on it's long way straight from Hong Kong ;).

The editing is just quick and dirty. So not much effort to reduce the insane amounts of noise I get with the 6D Mark II and also no effort at all put in fixing star cores. I am sure this was the last job for the DSLR as my partner in crime for astrophotography. It will life it's retirement as my daylight-cam.
