I finally got around to re-editing this object in order to get it ready to print. While I like the overall color scheme of my original edit (
https://www.astrobin.com/f4x1os/0/), there was weird background modeling and the stars were borderline horrendous. At the end of the edit, I fixed the aforementioned problems, but never could get the color the way I like it from the original. Thus, I ended up blending the two different images.
Despite the challenges and my first time using this set up with wide angle astrophotography, the image was a success . Since I first discovered the size, complexity, and breath-taking nature of the complex, I have been fascinating by it. The height of the images is nearly 10 degrees in the night sky (approximately 20 thumb widths at full arm extension). I love regions in space where you can capture bright reflection nebulas, emission nebulas, and dark nebulas in the same image.
