Description

Some more images from 'first light' with my new Lunt LS50Tha H-alpha solar telescope. The next day I added a 2x barlow and took exposures to capture the surface and proms. I made a first attempt at combining surface and prominence images using GIMP.

Imaged with a Lunt LS50Tha, 2x Celestron barlow, ZWO ASI290MM. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/14. Image capture using Firecapture (see below for exposure settings). Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 25% of 500 frames). Processed in IMPPG (LR deconvolution, stretching, image alignment) and GIMP (surface and prominence image combination).
